Trekk Engineering & Construction Limited is a forward-looking construction company that is spearheading the use of fast, low cost construction techniques particularly suited to your project.

Rather than relying on artisan-driven techniques that typically result in variable building quality, high construction costs and delayed construction schedules, Trekk focuses on using a rugged, flexible, steel-faced concrete formwork system that allows us to build dimensionally uniform concrete buildings in a fraction of the time typical of the traditional methods.

Trekk and has partnered with a dedicated formwork supplier, EFCO (see http://www.handsetformwork.com/ ), to deliver the best value and lowest in-place concrete costs on its construction projects. For example, using the same concrete form system, contractors in Malaysia completed 110 single-level, 90 m2 housing units in 110 days, using a crew of 13 workmen, working 6 hours per day. In another example, a contractor in Peru, using the same formwork system, built two identical 12-story towers with four apartment units per floor and a parking garage, totalling 30,400 m2 of walls and 10,300 m2 of floors, in 60 days.

But speed is not the only benefit of the poured concrete solutions we propose.  The forms produce a very high quality consistent, smooth concrete surface that requires minimal finishing.  Door and window frames can be positioned and set-up as part of the formwork and reliably positioned in the same place in every building.  Plumbing and electrical channels are also integral to the form set-up, so plumbing and electrical fixtures, are in exactly the same place in each building, and wiring runs and plumbing fittings can be pre-made and installed quickly and efficiently.  Dimensional consistency yields other benefits also: we can have fittings such and windows, doors, plumbing and electrical runs pre-fabricated off site.  All that is required on site is the relatively low skilled task of installing the ready-made fittings.  Minimizing the storage of raw materials reduces the opportunity for theft and other losses on site. Rapid construction also reduces interest costs and shortens the time for revenue generation.  We believe that in combination, the techniques we propose will substantially reduce construction costs, when properly planned and executed.
